Again, the good people from Agitate the Gravel asked me to design their CD sleeve, posters and T-shirt! They've got a looooad of gigs lined up all over the country this month which you can check out on their Facebook to see if they'll be coming to a town near you!
Upcoming gig poster. Just go, okay.
Narwhals - This guy has also been seen dabbling in the collective, Mersk. I've never seen him perform solo so I am really really looking forward to it. If you like electronic/ambient/drone you will love this guy.
Plinth - Well I'll leave it to them to describe their music. Let's see how they describe themselves on facebook ..two secs.. "A finely blended mix of spacore and goatsmilkcore" That is so them. I can't fret enough how much I love them. They kindly uploaded their whole EP just for you. I even hyperlinked that whole sentence to make it easier for you to click on. Look I just did it again. My blabbing won't do them any justice so just press play and listen to it while you're stumbling away or whatever it is you do on the internet. Which song do I recommend, you ask? Ahermadinkidis.
Agitate the Gravel - Let's see how much I can ctrl+c and ctrl+v here..
"Formed in early 2010 out of a love for all things pop and a growing dissatisfaction with current musical trends, Agitate the Gravel - comprising Chris Somers (vocals/guitar), Ruairi Dale (guitar/vocals), Muireann Levis (bass/vocals) and Cormac Connolly (drums) - spent a year building up an electrifying live set before beginning their onslaught on their native Cork scene.
Striking a balance between infectious riffs, celestial harmonies and sonic mayhem they take influence from past masters of many genres, citing Blur, Weezer and My Bloody Valentine as major influences.
Self produced recording efforts such as ‘Interval’ (featured on Drop-D.ie’s ‘CORK ROCK CITY’ compilation) and new single ‘Wilderness Years’ showcase the band's keen sense of structure and melody, while live performances herald explosive energy with manic results. The band have already played alongside a wealth of great acts; the Altered Hours, Tera Melos (US), the Ambience Affair Jogging and the James Cleaver Quintet (UK) to name but a few. The Summer months will see Agitate the Gravel touring furiously, bringing their brand of shoegaze-pop to the masses"
Their 3rd person writing skills are up to par with their music. Seriously though, come to this gig.
Album Cover and Back
CD disc design. They chose the first but I preferred the second. How bout choo?
This is the T-Shirt design. I don't think they've been delivered yet but cannot wait to see how they turn out. Will post!
